  1. Also known as the Treasury of Atreus – the names people give these monuments are steeped in myth. Great photo of something truly monumental in scale.

    1. Thank you, Debi. My Greek husband knows a lot of Greek history. He tells me the Greeks of 1250 BC are the ancient Greeks for the Ancient Greeks classic ancient Greeks of the Persian wars around 480 BC. Agamemnon was of the Trojan War fame. I’m in awe of the engineers that designed this honeycomb style tomb.

      1. Very true! The inhabitants of Mycenae were ancient even in Homer’s time.

      2. Yes indeed. BTW – I meant beehive tomb. I still have jetlag a week into our trip here in Greece. LOL. The weather in Athens and Peloponnese couldn’t be better! I’ve had spotty WiFi so am limited to posting mainly photos which is fine since I’d rather be out taking them.

    1. Thank you, Tina. It is fascinating to learn about ancient times. They had amazing engineers and a love of beautiful architecture. I can’t imagine the manpower it took to construct this tomb.
