Thursday Doors – San Juan Bautista

Recently, I braved the world outside my neighborhood and met a friend in San Juan Bautista for a photowalk. Life in a COVID bubble gets a bit stale over time. It does the soul good to get out of town and explore.

While walking around Mission San Juan Bautista and the western-themed town, I captured a few pics of a turquoise door and shutters. I’m a fan of turquoise. It’s an uplifting, happy color. I’m also a fan of white-washed adobe structures like the Santana Gallery.

While walking through town, we did a little window shopping. This fun window display made me smile when I first saw it and still does every time I look at the photo.

The turquoise doors in the photos below are from a previous trip to the Mission.

    1. Note to Traveler

Hi Norm, I love my Nikon Z7. It takes great photos. I purchased the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S Lens. Made sense for me to go with Nikon, as my previous cameras were Nikons. I’m able to use all of my F series lenses with an adapter on the Z7. The software is similar enough that the learning curve was short. The round navigation button allows for quick setting adjustments. That’s where I ran into trouble by accidentally adjusting the white balance to fluorescent lighting mode. I wondered why the white balance setting kept popping up. Now I know better. 🙂 Renting is a great way to try out the various models. Let me know how it goes. Enjoy your time off!
