Drive up a narrow, winding road in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains to enjoy wine tasting, expansive views of Silicon Valley, or the famous Concert Summer Series at the Mountain Winery. The Concert Summer Series is held in a modest-sized concert bowl. The concert seating area overlooks the Paul Masson wine cellar rebuilt in 1907 after the San Francisco earthquake left the original structure in ruins. The wine cellar features a 12th Century Spanish portal “acquired” from the rubble of the old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in San Jose. The grand portal provides a dramatic backdrop to the stage where well-known musicians perform.

It is wonderful to see an old door fixed back into a new structure. It gives it so much character!
Definitely. We don’t have an abundance of beautiful old doors in the Bay Area, so it’s nice to see this one got a second life!
Beautiful doors.
Thank you, Irene.
Wow, those are wonderful doors!!

Thank you, Janet.
Architecture of today is so ‘dull’ compared with the styles of years and centuries ago. Lovely photos
Thank you. Yes, definitely dull compared to the days of Old World craftsmanship.
Awesome stuff! It must be a treat to actually see a concert there on a nice summer day.
Thanks, Norm. It is a gorgeous location for concerts.
