The only visible signs of life inside this house in Nafplio, Greece are vines of greenery in search of sunlight through empty transom window panes and the green door left ajar. What else lies hidden behind the crumbling facade, weathered paint, and rusted windows of this once vibrant home? Happy memories of a good life by the sea? I’d like to think so.
Inspiration: Thursday Doors.
Oh, what a great find! (and I wonder what that sign on the door says)
Thanks, Sue. Not sure but my husband thought the sign might indicate active ownership of the vacant home.
Ah OK…so that would stop you having a peek inside!!
Yes. Though someone must have peeked inside because I took a picture of the same house a year prior and the door was closed, no vine growing from the inside out. 🙂
Oh!
That’s a beautiful photo. I love the worn and weathered look.
Thanks, Dan. The textures and colors of the weathered house are oddly beautiful.
It’s beautiful just like that
I couldn’t agree more.
Lovely. Green can only hide good things. 🙂
Oh, did you notice a Greek-seeming door just for you in my Thursday Doors this week?
Hi Manja,
I did notice the Greek-seeming door in your Thursday Doors post. So sweet of you to mention me along with that nice photo. What a lovely idea to share meaningful bits of info along with an equally meaningful photo for bloggers you follow!
I’ve been off my PC since Thursday afternoon, otherwise would have thanked you sooner. I look at & like posts on my phone but find I make too many typos if I try to write long responses on my phone. I guess this lack of ability dates me. 🙂
Thanks again, Donna
Oh, Donna, I understand perfectly, I never comment by way of my phone either. I hate tying there! I’m glad you love your door. Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! 🙂
Sorry for the lengthy delay this week. Oh my what a wonderful shot! So much gorgeous texture and warm inviting light – excellent 🙂
Thanks, Norm. I understand, some weeks are like that. I had one myself last week. 🙂
