On a Sunday morning in late April, we dropped our dog, Buddy off for a much-needed grooming appointment. Instead of heading back home, we decided to revisit a few of our favorite Santa Cruz Mountain Wineries for a doorscursion. On this visit, it was too early in the day for us to indulge in wine tasting. Instead, with camera in hand, I was on the hunt for interesting doors for Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors challenge.
One of the first local wineries that came to mind for our morning jaunt was Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyard located on Garrod Farms in the Saratoga Foothills. I love the weathered ranch-style buildings and barns, the smell of hay and horses, “Music at the Vineyards” on Sunday afternoons, and sipping wine with a picnic lunch. Garrod Farms offers Wine Tasting Rides, Guided Trail Rides, Winery Music Events, and of course, just plain old wine tasting. Please enjoy a few photos of this unique winery setting.

Good evening 🐞
Lovely variety and for sure a great day.
Thanks!
This is wonderful! It’s one of my favorite wineries up in the hills. I hike by it often, and take my Grandson there for pony rides.
The wine is delicious. I hope you get a chance to do some tasting one day.
Thank you. What a great place to take your Grandson for pony rides! There is something at Cooper-Garrod for everyone – hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, music, wine tasting… I’ve tried their wine and it is delicious. Next time we are there we’ll plan on wine tasting and a picnic. Cheers!
Love the barn and stalls!
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the barn and stalls. It’s not what you expect to see at a winery!
Lovely collection.
Thank you so much for your nice comment!
