Last week, we had a post from Debi @ An Evolving Life on lovely doors in the old medieval town of Monemvasia in Laconia, Greece. Debi’s selection of doors nicely complimented an earlier post of mine showcasing Old World Doors in the lower town of the fortress. Debi shares an informative summary of the history of Monemvasia, formerly known as Malvasia or Malmsey, the latter the name given to it by English travelers.

Today, I’m sharing a selection of simple, time-worn doors with horizontal and vertical lines made more prominent by chipped and faded paint. These tucked-away doors appear more utilitarian than decorative. Nevertheless, they are beautiful, in my eyes.  Enjoy.
