Last week, we had a post from Debi @ An Evolving Life about doors in the old medieval town of Monemvasia in Laconia, Greece. Debi shared an informative summary of the history of Monemvasia, formerly known as Malvasia or Malmsey, the latter the name given to it by English travelers. Debi’s selection of doors nicely complimented an earlier post of mine showcasing Old World Doors in the lower town of the fortress.
Today I’m sharing a selection of simple, time-worn doors. Horizontal and vertical lines in the door panels are the theme for the doors below.

I love them.
Thanks, Sherry!
These are beautiful old doors. They show the years of service they have provided.
Indeed, they are are beautiful old doors. The old stone buildings and climbing vines add to the charm of the heavily worn doors.
Some wonderful old doors!
Thanks, Sue. Old doors are my favorite kind of doors.
Mine too!
😊
Oh, all these picturesque places, I’m envious! Thank you for all you recent likes, but every time I think, why, what, who, where does she “like”? The suspense is killing me (exaggerated of course), Needless to say, but I hope next time you leave me a line – thank you:)
Hi Jesh, Thanks for your nice comment! I promise to leave a comment. In fact, I’ll go back to your post now and take another look. I always seem short of time and writing doesn’t always flow easily or freely for me. 🙂
Don’t worry, I’m Dutch so at times I’m not good either in saying what I really want to say. At least we don’t have to go through the moderation of blogspot – now that takes time:p
I just love these doors and the stonework, too!
🙂
